At TechHelp Ottawa, we process mail orders from throughout Canada. The driving force behind TechHelp Ottawa is a retired educator who was a classroom teacher, and later, a Central Instructional Technology Coach with the National Capital's largest public school board.
As well, Stuart holds an “Apple Authorized Training Certificate of Achievement,” and in July of 2012 he applied to Apple® Inc. and was offered a position at an Ottawa area Apple Store. Stuart also holds a Level II Certificate in SMARTboard™ training.
Stuart is a dedicated volunteer with Connected Canadians, an Ottawa-based non-profit that provides digital literacy services to seniors across Canada. In 2023, he was presented with a "Volunteer Service Award for Exceptional Achievement." In 2024, Stuart was the recipient of the "Lifetime Achievement Award."
Stuart also volunteers as Captain and First Mate with the charitable organization, Catch A Smile / Friends in Sportfishing, that offers free boating and fishing experiences for groups of seniors as well as people with special needs.
Besides his education and technology experience, Stuart has worked as a newspaper and radio reporter, a radio producer, a "gaffer" on commercial film shoots, and as a political staffer for several years on Parliament Hill. He is originally from Northern Manitoba.
In whatever spare time he has, Stuart enjoys boating, camping, reading up on technology matters, and listening to his extensive music collection—not necessarily in that order and sometimes all at the same time.

In 2015 and again in 2025, TechHelp Ottawa donated time and expertise to redesigning and rebuilding the not-for-profit Heritage North Museum website in Thompson, Manitoba. TechHelp continues to maintain this website at no charge.

For five years, the owner of TechHelp Ottawa volunteered with District 27 of the Retired Teaches of Ontario as co-editor and design artist for their corporate magazine, Horizons 27, and designed their logos, recruitment brochures, and other publications. Until recently, TechHelp designed and maintained the RTOERO District 27 website.

"During the 2008 Government of Canada charitable campaign, a number of fund-raising efforts were made in our Department. Although each one was as innovative as the other, one particular project stood out in our sector: the production of a calendar with photos of management members, which was very successful and generated a tidy sum. This project would not have been possible without the invaluable volunteer contribution of TechHelp Ottawa. Because we did not have a production budget, they graciously designed a custom layout and produced a beautiful calendar in record time and at no charge, and for this we are very grateful. Thank you!"
